Up until now, the Yahoo! Web Analytics forum as proven to be a great resource, so are dozens of blogs by practitioners, consultants and vendors. Nowadays, the Twitter #measure hashtag is an invaluable gold mine, but you have to be there at the right time. Various tools will let you know who are the #measure leaders to follow on Twitter. But let’s face it, unless you are already “well plugged” in the network, it’s hard to find the most valuable resources.
Useful resources for the web analytics community
- “Analytics and Conversion websites”, created by Ton Wesseling, is a growing list of the top blogs in the web analytics space. Another way of seeing top blogs & posts is using the PostRank Topics for web analytics.
- “Inspection Tools for measure”, by Chris Brinkworth, is the definitive list for tag auditing and debugging tools,
- “Web Analytics events”, to list any events useful for web analysts,
- “Web Analytics Educational Resources” where the goal is to list University and other accredited academic resources,
- "Web Analytics Jobs Resources" - for those seeking new challenges
- Bonus! My Web Analytics Bookshelf!

Stéphane, thanks for mentioning TwtPickin in your blog and it's nice to see all the lists for #measure that folks have put together.
There's a bunch of exciting new stuff that's coming up on TwtPickin - including a name change to list.ly and some very interesting features for bloggers.
Thanks again and I look forward to more #measure lists.

This is awesome, Stéphane. Just to prove your point, I think I missed your tweet about this in the five seconds I was offline!
Hi Stéphane,
Happy new year.
Thanks for your efforts in promoting this list! Keep on adding those sites.
Im thinking of spidering al these blogs rss feeds. Their traffic level according to Google trends and the Retweets of their articles. With those numbers you can tell which articles are really popular and create our own #measure news / tips archive. Saves time from monitoring that #measure tag :-)
All the best,
Ton Wesseling
Ton: what about something like PostRank top topics? See http://www.postrank.com/topic/web%20analytics
We would not even need the TwtPickin list and there would be no bias or popularity contest :)
Great stuff that Postrank list on web analytics sites. With that content (engagement per article) their missing 1 big point. Why should I bother about the sites hot list? I just want the top x articles with the highest engagement :-) They can create that list very simple, the data is already there. When they monitor near real-time, they can even predict which articles will become the ones with high engament (so you can be their to jump on the comment train!)...
Are you going to tell them, or do we have to use Mozenda to scrape their site :-)
anonymous: I agree, this is something they could/should do.
In the meantime:
1) Go to PostRank web analytics topic, look for the Export to OPML and save the file.
2) Go to the Labs page and download the Google Reader PR browser extension for your browser
2) Open Google Reader
3) Under Reader Settings, look for the Import/Export tab
4) Import the OPML file and you'll get all the subscriptions
5) With the Google Reader PR extension you can filter the top posts and sort them for all the subscriptions you've just imported.
I love it!
P.S. I'm in no way associated with PostRank, I talk about them just because I find their product useful and I like it. :)
Great post,Stephane.I was searching for some twtpick site. Now i got the link. Thanks for sharing.
